The “Rifugio del Re”, with its characteristic star vaults and fireplace, is the restaurant at Tenuta Monacelli. On warm spring evenings and during the summer, guests can sit on a large terrace overlooking the beautiful olive groves of the Estate.

The “Rifugio del Re” restaurant faces onto the inner courtyard of Masseria Monacelli, providing an atmosphere of conviviality.

It features a stylish dining-room with typical star vaults and fireplace and, for warm summer evenings, a charming outdoor terrace overlooking the olive groves of the Estate.

The large underground hall is used to host large receptions and special events. Guests can experience the magical atmosphere of times past and explore the hidden wonders of a historic 15th-century olive-mill.

The restaurant specialises in Mediterranean cooking, with an emphasis on traditional specialities from Salento and the region. Our chefs use only wholesome ingredients, many including the olive oil produced on site, to create dishes that combine healthiness, the Mediterranean diet and the pleasures of eating well.

The agricultural products, wines, and gastronomic specialities are deeply rooted in the history and diversity of the territory, and the fruits of hard work and dedication.  The wines and products of Salento are an integral part of the Mediterranean Diet, a cultural heritage recognised by UNESCO.
